The Wedding Singer is the musical theatre version of the 80s-set movie which itself was released twenty years ago this month! The Adam Sandler/Drew Barrymore hit is a much loved movie with great characters and storyline and the musical version is a great night out.
Musicals fans will love the score which effectively pastiches a whole range of eighties song styles.
ACAOS have an enviable reputation, and have put together another great show, with brilliant singing coached by the Musical Director Ross Angus, dazzling choreography by Lisa Kennedy, and energetic direction of principals and chorus by Thomas Gemmell.
Robbie is a wedding singer, heartbroken when jilted at the altar. Julia is a love-starved woman seeing the wrong type of guy. Will they get together? Or will their friendship get in the way? Follow the couple and their friends, various brides and grooms, an unconventional granny, a gang of “mutants”, vaguely-recognisable impersonators of Mr T, Cyndi Lauper, Tina Turner, Imelda Marcos, Ronald Reagan and of course Billy Idol, for a love story that will spin you right round, baby, right round!
One week only!
